The world of “Body of Lies” should feel chaotic and dangerous. But the beauty of those scenes points to the movie’s biggest problem: Director Ridley Scott, whose work (“Alien,” “Gladiator”) is all about elegant, controlled compositions, is exactly the wrong man for this kind of story. “Body of Lies” won’t bore you as it zips all over the world exploding things, and there are a couple of tense confrontations set in vast, empty deserts. Set it next to the similar Middle-East intrigue of Syriana, and Body of Lies is easy to follow-in fact, this movie's plot is amazingly straightforward for an espionage picture.
